She’s a climate leader

Dear Editor: Vicki Veenker is an experienced policymaker and a respected regional leader. Palo Alto is fortunate to have her smart, creative climate leadership.

We see it firsthand: one of us attended the United Nations climate conference with her last year and the other of us serves with her on the air district board, where she leads as vice chair. Returning her to office would be a big win for Palo Alto and the region. At a time when the Bay Area is ground zero for sea level rise, and subnational officials are taking the lead, it’s more important than ever to participate in exchanging ideas and solutions that address climate change and its effects.
